• Princes Street
  Princes Street is still the main shopping street in Edinburgh. Remarkable for the fact that one side of this long street consists of Princes Street Gardens with the magnificent Castle looming above, the other side is populated by large branches of famous chains such as House of Fraser, Marks and Spencer, Debenham's and BHS as well as a host of other stores.
  Until recently, Princes Street was also home to the oldest independent department store in the world - Jenners which has occupied the same site since 1838. The store remains although it is now part of the House of Fraser group.
• George Street
  George Street is the place to go for prestigious designer brands such as Escada, Space NK, Joe Malone, Whistles, Jigsaw, Hobbs, LK Bennett, Jaeger and, Scotland's own masters of cool, Cruise. Once you've tired of shopping, some of the city's best bars and restaurants are here to help revive and refresh you.
• Harvey Nichols
  Open since 2002, the only Scottish branch of this prestigious store is packed with designer labels and fabulous goodies. The top floor bars and restaurants have some of the best views in the city.
• Multrees Walk
  This wee street near Harvey Nichols has some of the hottest names in shopping - Armani, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Daks to name a few. When you need a break, stop in at Valvona and Crolla's VinCaffe for a delicious refreshment.
• Belinda Robertson Casmere
  Don't forget to drop into Belinda Robertson (right next door to 15 and 15A Dundas Street) where you will find a treasure trove of soft sweaters and fine wraps for those brisk Scottish nights, and the most friendly and helpful staff in Edinburgh!
